Woody Harrelson has reconfirmed the possibility that Matthew McConaughey is his half-brother.
“I mean, that’s crazy,” said the “Shock and Awe” star on Tuesday’s “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” before recalling how McConaughey’s mother opened up to them about Harrelson’s closeness to his biological father during a trip to Greece. .
“I’ve known ‘Ma Mc’ for a long time, and she says, ‘I knew your father…’ and that’s where I found it a little unsettling—or interesting,” Harrelson explained.
Host Stephen Colbert, “How would you describe this pause?” When asked, the “White House Plumbers” star replied, “Full of allusions.”
Colbert later joked that it was a “pregnant pause”, a grammatical term meaning a break in an expression “that gives the impression of being followed by something important.”
The audience burst into laughter, and Harrelson went on to explain how it would make sense for McConaughey’s mother, Mary Kathlene McCabe, to flirt with her father.
Nine months before McCabe gave birth to McConaughey, the “Hunger Games” actor revealed he was “on leave” due to an affair with the man he believed to be the real father of the “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” star, James Donald McConaughey. .
Harrelson, 61, said he and Matthew, 53, were considering getting a DNA test, but there was much more concern on the part of the “Dallas Buyer’s Club” star.

Matthew previously confirmed on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Camera” podcast that he has some hesitation about getting to the bottom of the truth.
“[Harrelson is] After 53 years of believing for the lead actor in “True Detective,” my father may not be my father, the actor said. “I have a little more appearance in the game.”
However, Matthew realized that there were many signs that pointed to the fact that he and Harrelson could indeed be siblings.
The “Fool’s Gold” star said, “You see our photos, and my family thinks most photos of him are me, and his family thinks most of my photos are him.”
He also added, “Then there are possible receipts for a meeting or meeting in West Texas or a location that could be a ‘know’ moment.”
