A few years after the racism scandal that shook the Bravosphere, the former Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder has launched a convincing comeback, selling live shows, appearing on major podcasts, and a New York Times The best-selling book about “cancellation”. But this latest business move may put him in a difficult position once again, thanks to a former colleague. VPR colleague who threatened to sue him.
During the weekend, Faith Stowers – a former recurring cast member Vanderpump Rules and the Black woman at the center of Schroeder’s racism controversy—founded a GoFundMe page where she sought help with legal fees for “justice against Stassi.”
According to the fundraising event’s description, Stowers is trying to demonize sales of Schroeder’s second book. Off With My Head: The Definitive Essential Bitch Handbook to Surviving to the Bottom. In his memoir, published in April 2022, Schroeder writes about his reaction to the Stowers incident, which included being dropped by Bravo as well as its agents, PR firm, and podcast network.
Stowers alleges that her former co-star has made “terribly untrue allegations” that continue to harm him and his family – though it’s unclear whether Schroeder made these claims in the book or on other platforms. The Daily Beast is awaiting comment from Stowers.
“Stassi Schroeder is a NY Times The GoFundMe page has recently made more gruesome, untrue claims about the best-selling book and me. “Despite all that he has done, he continues to stand behind his ignorant allegations that have done so much harm to me and my family. I am seeking help from my legal team to have this book removed and all royalties/funds collected from this book go to charity or help a selected family.”
The event, which dates back to years when Stowers was involved, exploded in the middle of 2020’s Black Lives Matter shows when Bravo audiences began re-circulating the 2018 episode of the Bitch Bible podcast. In the episode, Schroeder and his Vanderpump Rules co-star Kristen Doute admitted that they tried to charge Stowers for a crime she didn’t commit and even called the police about her.
The two women and several other actors became publicly targeted after it was revealed that Stowers was sleeping with co-star Jax Taylor while he was in a relationship with his current wife, Brittany Cartwright. Stowers also took to Instagram Live to discuss her trauma from the ordeal at the start of the shows.
When Schroeder was released Headed Off Last year, Stowers was among many online critics who criticized the author for trying to profit from the racism scandal. “I think it’s a sad, sad time in our community when someone tries to destroy you using white privilege and then uses that same privilege to make money off you,” she wrote on Instagram last May.
This isn’t the first time Stowers has sought legal justice for his co-stars’ machinations. Regarding the release of Schroeder’s book last year, several blogs reported that Stowers’ former co-star Lala Kent was “in the early stages” of suing her for allegedly approaching her with a knife in Season 4. Vanderpump Rules About the Taylor situation. The articles also alleged that executive producer Lisa Vanderpump and the show’s production company, Evolution Media, cut footage to silence her. However, sources later told RadarOnline that Stowers did not sue Kent and that the two were “good friends.” Stowers has never directly commented on these rumors.
Now, it looks like Stowers is ready to make her voice heard once again and possibly take some financial punishment for what she went through. The timing seems right given that a few of his former co-stars, including Schroeder and Doute, Taylor and Cartwright, are getting more attention thanks to this movie. Vanderpump Rules “Skandoval” played earlier this year. Likewise, some fans who have petitioned for Schroeder to rejoin the show in light of recent events on Twitter. already attacking hoarders Bravo for coming after their favourites.
It’s not yet clear whether Stowers will be able to raise enough money to continue a cause – as of Tuesday afternoon, GoFundMe received just $705 in donations from its $20,000 goal.
