Treat Williams’ former co-stars in the drama series Everwood has We pay tribute to the actor after his unexpected death at the age of 71.
It was confirmed to PEOPLE that the late actor died in a motorcycle accident Monday evening by Barry McPherson, his manager of 15 years.

Grey’s Anatomy Star Sarah Drew, who joined as Hannah Rogers in season three, says she’s “totally upset at the news.” He told PEOPLE, “My experience working with Treat at Everwood has been formative in my life and career.
“We had a beautiful and extremely close family during our years in Salt Lake City. I learned a lot from Treat’s talent and leadership, and today we lost a bright light. My heart is with his family.”
Emily VanCamp, who plays Amy Abbott on the show, penned a tribute to the late star alongside a black and white photo of her as a young man on Instagram, describing working with Williams as “always great”.
“💔 We’ve worked together many times – always great and I’m always excited for the next time. Sending all my love to your family Treat. My high-fly friend ✨,” wrote VanCamp, 37.
She added to her Instagram Story, “So sad to hear about it. I love you Treat your family in this difficult time and with all my love.”
In the series, Dr. Scott Wolf, who appears as Jake Hartman, shared his shock about Williams’ death while paying his respects to the actor on his Instagram Story. “I love him and his beautiful family. He’s heartbroken,” she wrote while rebroadcasting an homage to Williams by the Hallmark channel.

Williams was nominated for a SAG Award in 2003-04 for outstanding performance by an actor in a drama series. everwood His death comes two weeks after his co-star John Beasley, who plays Irv Harper in the series, died on May 30. He was 79 years old.
