Just a year after sharing his diagnosis, Toby Keith says his battle with stomach cancer is on a “positive trend”.
“I feel pretty good,” she said told Oklahoman At a premiere before the Toby Keith & Friends Golf Tournament.
“Basically, everything is in a really positive trend… [but] You never know if you have cancer, so you have to be prepared.”
The 61-year-old country music star said she hopes to “hit the road” in the fall if she can regain her energy.
“I have more wind. And I’m thinking of bringing the band and playing it somewhere for two or three days, just to see if I can last two hours,” said Keith.
“All I have to do is get through the two or three nights of work and see if I can take a break from this chemotherapy, and then we’ll be back to work.”
The “I Should Have Been a Cowboy” singer revealed that she is still undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
However, he shared that his single tumor had shrunk by a third in size, and the blood test was encouraging.
“I expect this tumor to be even less next time,” he said. “And there’s one that just popped up.”

Keith shared in June 2022 that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021 and underwent six months of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.
“I need time to breathe, heal and relax,” he told fans at the time.
In December 2022, the “Red Solo Cup” singer admitted that her cancer was “debilitating”.
