Page Six has confirmed that legendary singers Tina Turner and Ike Turner’s son, Ike Turner Jr., were arrested for possession of crack cocaine and falsifying evidence just weeks before his mother’s death.
According to People, who first reported the arrest, the 64-year-old pulled over in the early hours of May 6 when police officers noticed that one of his car’s headlights had gone out.
However, when the officers went to talk to the musician, he allegedly tried to drink the narcotics in his hands.
“The officers tried to ingest the drugs before they could get it from him,” Captain QT Arendell of the Alvin Police Department wrote in the incident report.
Police seized about two grams of crack cocaine and just under one gram of methamphetamine, according to the outlet.
Ike Jr.’s passenger, Jessica Salinas-Esquivel, is also reportedly charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Page Six confirmed that Ike Jr. has been held in Brazoria County Prison since his arrest and has not paid his $70,000 bail.
The musician was in prison for illegality when he lost his mother on May 24. He was 83 years old.
Announcing in 2018 that he hasn’t spoken to his stepmother for nearly two decades, Ike Jr. has yet to address her tragic death.

Sources told Page Six last month that Tina’s family was in shock about her death as they had not heard that she was seriously ill.
Although the biological sons of the “Best” singer Craig Turner and Ronnie Turner died before he died, Ike Jr. and his adopted son, Michael Turner, in 1962, survived.
He also left behind two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, many of whom he never met.
Despite cutting off contact with Tina, Ike Jr. He worked with his family for many years.
He even won a Grammy Award for producing his father’s “Risin’ With The Blues” in the 2006 Traditional Blues Album category.
But the following year, Sr. Ike died of an overdose after a decades-long battle with cocaine addiction.
