Body-ody-ody, really.
Megan Thee Stallion drove fans crazy by sharing a clip of her twerking in a stunning Rey Ortiz crystal knit dress on TikTok on Monday.
But as Ortiz told Page Six Style, the pure, sparkly style was actually aimed at a different star.
I did it for Zerina [Akers, Megan’s stylist] for a celebrity who finds designer dishes “too bare.”
While Ortiz is not named, Akers has also worked with Latto, Chloe x Halle, and Beyoncé; the latter’s hit song “Cuff It” became the soundtrack to Megan’s TikTok.
“Of course I was a little disappointed, but I knew it was a matter of timing and ‘cojones’,” the designer said, citing his crystallized creation, continuing the missed opportunity.
Nearly two years later, the cut number finally found its deserved biggest moment when Houston sex dared to wear it for a night out and “looked like the bomb,” in Ortiz’s words.
“Seeing it worn reminded me how much I loved it when I originally created it. “Sometimes, when someone chooses another design over your particular one, we can hardly hold ourselves back wondering what failed and what didn’t.”

“But the joy of seeing someone who owns it and lives her sexy life in it confirms that my instincts should continue to be embraced.”
And for the “Wild” rapper, who had recently been out of the spotlight for months amid his assault lawsuit against Tory Lanez, who was convicted of all charges in December, the dazzling dress marked a return to his signature confident, curvaceous style.
“Megan feels and looks better than ever before, and I’m glad we’re part of each other’s history,” Ortiz says.
