“Absolutely heartbreaking. A truly wonderful, talented and humble man was taken too early. I feel very privileged to have watched her performance over the years. RIP Mark & I am sending so much love and thoughts to your family and friends 😢❤️ xxx,” added a third.
The late musician co-founded The Script with his childhood friend and band’s lead vocalist and keyboardist Danny O’Donoghue, 42, and drummer Glen Power, 41, in 2001.
The group released their self-titled album in 2008 and is known for hits such as “We Cry”, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, “Breakeven” and “Before the Worst”.
They went on to record five more studio albums and have sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
Last year, Sheehan skipped the US leg of the band’s world tour, but O’Donoghue confirmed to Sunday World that it was due to family commitments.
“His story to be told, but yes, I guess to put it in other words, his children needed a father and his wife needed a husband,” O’Donoghue said.
Sheehan was married to Reena Sheehan. They had three children.
