Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers revealed on Instagram that he is battling alcoholism and brought it up on his new single.
Sitting at a piano while the duo played their new melody “Self Destruction Mode” with the bludnymph, Taggart used the title of the video to describe his “flawed nature”.
“I’ve struggled with drinking throughout my career because it’s an addiction built into the environment we’re in,” he began.
“The guilt of not being good enough or not getting better sends me into a spiral that ironically restarts my cycle of bad habits.”
Taggart, 33, concluded his message by sharing that the new tune is not a “cry for help” but a “hug or celebration” of who he is.
“I know I am [sic] I know I’m imperfect, and so are you,” she concluded. “Never forget.”
In a September 2021 special, Page Six reported that Taggart, who formed The Chainsmokers with Alex Pall, was partying hard at The Palace and flirting with various women while there.
“Drew was definitely having a great time and was trying to hang out with every girl,” an insider said at the time.

As we were told the “Closer” musician broke up with some tech billionaires, including Mikey Hess, his attempts seemed to be successful.
“[He] definitely brought one of the girls home,” the source added.
Taggart’s Cassanova ways seemed to have softened for a while as he was briefly mentioned as dating Selena Gomez when they were seen holding hands outside one night.
However, the couple gushed and was later rumored to have started a romance with former One Direction member Zayn Malik.
He revealed that he was “single” while dating a group of football players last week.
