Taylor Lautner considers herself “safe” before the re-release of ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now”, but she’s not so sure about John Mayer.
About two weeks after Swift announced the “Taylor’s Version” re-recording of her 2010 album – featuring the song “Back to July” about her months-long love affair with Lautner in 2009 – the “Twilight” star was asked about the news during a “”. Today” show view.
“I think it’s a great album,” he said on Tuesday.
“I feel safe,” Lautner, 31, jokingly added, “praying for John.”
The actor, who is currently married to registered nurse Tay Lautner, was apparently referring to Mayer, who dated Swift between 2009 and 2010.
“Back to December” is widely accepted as an apology from Lautner, while “Dear John” is a hardcore single believed to be about Swift’s short-lived love affair with Mayer.
By contrast, the 45-year-old guitarist is presumed to have also written about the 33-year-old Swift with his 2013 track “Paper Doll”, which he admits to being a “bitchy” move 10 years later.
“I try not to be bitchy in the songs. It happens sometimes,” he said at an April concert. “I don’t really like ‘piss off’ as a song. I think it was more [about] hurt.”

Fans were quick to criticize Mayer for playing “Paper Doll” at the time, amid rumors that Swift’s relationship with Joe Alwyn was shaky six years later.
Page Six later confirmed that the former couple quit the job later that month.
Swift has since romantically bonded with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, and the two were photographed hand-in-hand at Casa Cipriani in New York City last week.
An eyewitness told Page Six that the couple “sat next to each other on a banquette in the hall” and “kissed”.
Healy, 34, previously dated model Gabriella Brooks and singer FKA Twigs.
“Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” is out July 7th.
