Sum 41 is officially disbanding.
The group members announced on Monday that they broke up on Instagram after 27 years together.
“Being at Sum 41 since 1996 has brought us some of the best moments of our lives,” Deryck Whibley, Dave Baksh, Jason McCaslin, Tom Thacker and Frank Zummo said in a statement.
The message continued, “We are forever grateful to our fans, old and new, who support us in any way.”
“It is difficult to put into words the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear it from us first.”

The musicians have announced that they plan to end their “current tour dates this year” as they “disperse”.
Additionally, Sum 41 “releases [their] One last headline tour around the world to celebrate with her latest album ‘Heaven :x: Hell’.”
Their statement added, “For now, we look forward to seeing you all on the road and are excited about what the future holds for each of us. Thank you for the last 27 years of Sum 41.”
Best known for their songs like “Fat Lip” and “In Too Deep”, the group was formed in 1996 and has released seven studio albums.
Over the years, other members have joined the group – Jon Marshall, Richard Roy, Mark Spicoluk and Steve Jocz.
Sum 41 is touring Europe in June, followed by the Let the Bad Times Roll tour in North America with The Offspring and Simple Plan in the fall.
