Sharon Stone praised Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd’s performances in “The Idol” after the show was criticized by critics for showing too much nudity.
“I just watched the first two episodes of @theidol @lilyrose_depp and Abel (@theweeknd) r,” the 65-year-old “Basic Instinct” star wrote on her Instagram Stories Friday, praising both Depp and The Weeknd, 23. – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – both starring in the HBO series.

“We were inspired by a lot of other influences that weren’t actually pop stars,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “We thought a lot about Sharon Stone and Gene Tierneys and Lauren Bacalls in Basic Instinct… all these women who inspired me so much for the role.”
Premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, the show received mixed reviews, with many criticizing the seemingly gratuitous nudity.

“There’s seldom a scene where the camera doesn’t show her boobs or ass,” the Hollywood Reporter wrote about the actress in a goddamn review, adding, “You start to wonder if that’s building anything, and in the second episode it looks like she probably isn’t.
Levinson, 38, has previously been accused of promoting nudity and sexual content in the show and turning the show into a “rape fantasy”.
A Rolling Stone article published earlier this year included interviews with 13 alleged cast and crew members who revealed their dissatisfaction with the style and direction of the show.
“It was like any rape fantasy any toxic man on the show would have – and then he comes back for more because the woman made her music better,” a production member told the magazine of Levinson’s version.
Another said, “’What is this? What am I reading here?’ It was like sexual torture porn.”
However, Depp objected to the article, telling Page Six through his representative, “Sam is, for many reasons, the best director I’ve ever worked with.”
The “Voyagers” actor was spotted passionately kissing his girlfriend 070 Shake, whose real name is Danielle Balbuena, at LAX.
