With regular clients like Blake Lively and Beyoncé and styles popping up everywhere from “Real Housewives” to the White House, Sergio Hudson has never been this hotter.
“My inspiration always comes from women, from women I’ve known in my life to iconic women of pop culture,” the fashion designer tells Page Six Style.
“They’re usually confident, strong, and great.”
Now this year, as she’s dressed the stars for everything from the Met Gala she attended with Keke Palmer to the Tony Awards, it all started when “Real Housewives of Atlanta” graduate Lisa Wu stumbled upon the “on one site” page. More than a decade ago, when it was dubbed “Model Mayhem,” she tells us.
“The fact that someone wanted to not only wear these clothes but also buy them made me feel really seen and validated.”
And although she’s followed a major celebrity since then, you don’t need a Hollywood-sized paycheck to buy one of her most iconic pieces: the Signature Belt (starting at $118), stocked and pre-purchased at Hudson’s Amazon Luxury Store. . Lively has been seen in names such as Rachel Brosnahan and former first lady Michelle Obama.
“I think the main difference between a celebrity wearing something and a standard consumer wearing something is that it’s flashy and tailored, and that’s why I love belts,” she explains.
“Celebrities are real women and real people with better tailoring.”
However, beyond the clasps and bright colors, Hudson’s designs are rooted in something deeper: his love for the women he designs for them.
“I think my love for women and my desire to make them feel happy and beautiful is what they feel through clothing,” she shares.
Below, the fashion luminary tells us some of the most memorable moments with celebrities to date, from the red carpet to the big screen.
Priyanka Chopra (2023)
“We were in the middle of the epidemic when I designed this dress. I wanted my client to still look and feel their best at such an uncertain time.
“Most of this collection was inspired by iconic and strong female TV characters from my childhood, so when I got a call about ‘Citadel’ and Priyanka’s character, this particular dress felt perfect despite being a few seasons old.”

Cake Palmer (2023)
“This was very special to me because even though I dressed Keke for the Met Gala in 2021, this was my first time going with him, so I felt like I was under pressure.
“I wanted to show off our skills as a brand and show what we can do, but I still wanted to represent the ethos of the Sergio Hudson aesthetic. It’s definitely up there as one of my favorite things to do.
Blake Live (2022)
“Bla always looks amazing. If I had to pick a favourite, I would say when she wore a purple suit and bodysuit. There was something so striking and sexy about how she wore the suit and the bodysuit underneath. Seeing a designer’s vision and making it work for her with her own style He has a great way of doing things; he’s really good at it.

Beyoncé (2021)
“It was on a whim. I was showing stylist sketches for my next collection and discussing what I was thinking of doing, and she immediately asked for it for Beyoncé. We actually did it for him before we did it for the collection. The crystals were Swarovski and each crystal was sewn in house by us.”
Michelle Obama (2021)
“I’ve dressed Ms. Obama a few times, so when her stylist contacted us about the opening everything went very smoothly. They really liked a trouser look from the collection I showed them in September.
“Of course they wanted it to look beautiful – but it was also a big moment for the Vice President. [Kamala Harris]We were also dressing up that weekend, so this was a bit of a shock when it turned out to be such a standout moment.
