Selma Blair is ready to find the person she’s looking for.
With 51-year-old Blair appearing on the cover Fascination She told the magazine for its 2023 Women of the Year issue that she’s ready to put herself out there romantically for the first time since announcing her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2018.

“I think the word disability … confuses people,” Blair said. “It’s like I don’t have a vagina.”
The actor said that falling in love is “not something to be taken lightly” in terms of how it affects one’s psyche: “It colors everything. I still believe that if I am honest with myself, that person will come into my life one day.”
“I think I deserve it and I think I’m in a great place to emerge as the best version of myself. “For the first time I have hope,” Blair said. “And I could never say that before in my life.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Blair recalled being in a “bad relationship” before her diagnosis.
“I didn’t realize how emotionally abusive and controlling they were, taking advantage of meeting me at a really vulnerable time,” she said. “I am convinced that this is what I deserve. When you are in a difficult situation you can meet some opportunistic people. This is really dangerous.”

Blair said Fascination She recently met a guy at a friend’s birthday dinner and found him exciting.
“Something about this person inspired me to see myself differently in the way I viewed the world,” he said. “After that brief meeting, I thought: ‘I have something that I didn’t know existed.’ ”

The actress is mother to 12-year-old son Arthur, with whom she lives with former fashion designer Jason Bleick.
Blair was previously involved with Ronald Carlson, who was granted a restraining order in March 2022 after he allegedly physically assaulted her earlier that year. Carlson later requested his own restraining order against Blair, and both parties withdrew the restraining orders in September 2022, according to TMZ.
