Nicolas Coster, actor best known for his work Santa Barbara, All My Children and Another World, died. He was 89 years old.
In a Facebook post shared on Coster’s page on Monday evening, her daughter. Dinneen Coster confirmed that the actor passed away.
“I am deeply saddened to publish this on my father’s book page,” he wrote. “Nicolas Coster passed away tonight at a Florida hospital. Please remember him as a great artist. He was an actor’s actor! I will always be inspired by him and I will know how lucky I am to have such a wonderful father!! Rest in peace.”
A cause of death was not provided. PEOPLE reached out to Coster’s team for additional comment.
Coster was best known for his role as Robert Delaney on the NBC series. another world (Also known as Somerset) between 1970 and 1979. He also appeared as the kidnapper Steve Andrews. All My Children From 1988 to 1989 and as Mayor Jack Madison Gulf from 2010 to 2019.
Another of his leading roles was in the NBC series. Santa BarbaraCoster played Lionel Lockridge from 1984 to 1988. After a brief hiatus due to Coster’s dislike for a possible story in the show, it went back to 1990, when the show ended, in 1993.
She received four Daytime Emmy nominations for the role. That was Madison’s role. Gulf – An Amazon soap that earned Coster his first Emmy in 2017.
Other television shows in which Coster has appeared include: green hornet, Angels of Charlie, One day, Who is the boss?, Star Trek: The Next Generation And Cold Safe, among others. He continued to act in television series until his death in 2023 and lastly appeared in the series. American Crime StoryNetflix’ dead to me And Rookie: Feds.
Coster’s acting career has also far exceeded the confines of daytime television. Listed movies Titanic, All the President’s Men, Desert Mice, And Sea of Lost Ships.

With his daughter Dinneen, Coster married his wife, Beth Pantel, and their second daughter, Candice Jr. He leaves Coster behind. The actor also had a son named Ian, who died in 2016.
