Robert De Niro’s daughter Drena is mourning the loss of her son Leandro De Niro-Rodriguez.
The 52-year-old actress, who is the adopted daughter of the film legend, penned an emotional Instagram tribute to her son alongside graveside photos on Monday.
Leandro died tragically from an accidental drug overdose on July 2.
“One can feel that if everyone valued the depth of love and sorrow, we would not have wars, such harm to children or animals, to our planet and oceans,” the memorial read.
“I grieve for myself, for my loved ones, and for everyone who has lost a child or loved one,” he continued. “I will never get used to this, no one should get used to it 😢 I pray that the whole world will heal and this heart that beats inside me will find peace.”
Drena also posted a photo of a rock with a winged heart painted on it and placed it next to her son’s grave.
The actress captioned her Instagram story, “Mi manchi motto molto, il mio amore, mio cuore, Leo” in Italian, which translates to “I miss you so much my love, my heart Leo.”
On the other side of the rock he wrote: “Leo, we love you. The world misses you.”
She wrote “I love you sweet child” on the photo of the flowers left on his grave. “Sleep well and may you always be filled with love and light.”
