Real Housewives of MiamiI Guerdy Abraira was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The 45-year-old event designer shared her diagnosis on Instagram Wednesday, saying she learned the news in March and will be undergoing surgery and treatment.
“I was having the best moment of my life in St. Barts when my doctor called me with the results after a regular mammogram checkup. I have breast cancer,” she began.
“It took me a while to digest all this and that’s why I took a social media break last month as many have noticed. Many of you have reached out to check on me and I am grateful for your caring gestures.”
“This process is absolutely intense and what I’m asking from you is empowerment, not pity,” Abraira explained, explaining that she’s currently “preparing for my upcoming surgery and then coming to my treatment plan.”
The reality star later referenced the famous “come back” phrase she used on the show regarding the incredible events, parties and weddings she was planning.
“I’m going to “pull back” this cancer just as I protect everything else in my life, she continued. “I’m lucky this breast cancer was discovered at an early stage – of course it’s still scary, but I get love and support from those around me and that’s the fuel I need.”
He ended his post, which urged his followers to undergo a health check, with the words “Your life depends on it”.

Abraira, who runs Guerdy Design, has been married to his high school sweetheart Russell Abraira for over 20 years, and the couple has two sons – Liam, 9, and Miles, 14.
The news comes just two months after co-star Julia Lemigova’s wife, tennis star Martina Navratilova, confirmed she was cancer-free after being diagnosed with throat and breast cancer at the end of 2022.
In March, 50-year-old Lemigova opened up to PEOPLE how she felt after her 66-year-old wife, who also regularly appears on reality TV shows, beat her two cancer diagnoses.
“I’m proud,” said Lemigova. “I can’t even express how proud I am of my champion for playing singles against the most disgusting duos he’s ever met and beating them both victoriously. He surprises me every day.”
