Omari Hardwick’s key to a lasting marriage is respect and communication.

Hardwick tells PEOPLE that a healthy relationship is “very important” and “definitely” the most important component.
“Imagine all the duties, responsibilities, and duties. Imagine the people who manage a ship, a boat, not doing their job. Then that boat ends – it capsizes, it sinks, it’s out of here. So that word is really cool and we don’t think enough about it. ‘relationship’boots. It’s a ship.”
He continues, “If it’s romantic, you really have to be on the ship, and the best way to relate to each other on the ship is on the nights you don’t want to do it or in the mornings. ”
“You can probably get away with it as long as there’s communication and respect will be on its side. Respect is next door,” she says. “You just have to really respect the person you’re in a relationship with. Once that’s gone, it’s really hard to get it back.”

Hardwick and Pfautch share two children, daughter Nova, 10, and son Brave, on April 8. In an Instagram post on April 8, Pfautch offered his own dating and marriage advice, explaining that “growth is always sexy.”
“I think one of the most important things is growth. Constant, constant, constant GROWTH in every way,” she wrote next to a photograph, smiling with Hardwick. “Look for someone who is constantly improving. They won’t magically fall in love with growing up after marriage, so look for him when you’re dating someone.”
She added, “Marry someone who loves to grow, get better, learn, and progress. If they strive to grow in their own lives, they will nurture your relationship towards growth through saaaame.”
“Change is inevitable, but growth is optional,” Pfautch wrote, advising his followers that “someone who is always striving to grow” is “the best partner ever”.
