Melanie Griffith was photographed with bruises on her hand and cheek as she left her dermatologist on Thursday, ten years after she first declared her battle with skin cancer.
The Hollywood icon’s left hand and knuckles were distinctly dark purple, and a small part near his ear also appeared to have faded.
Still, she didn’t try to cover up her flaws as she gathered her blonde locks into a messy bun.
Despite the bruises, the 65-year-old no-makeup movie star looked stylish in a brown leather jacket, tan sweater and white pants. She completed the look with orange cat-eye sunglasses and Gucci sneakers.
Griffith has been very open about her decision to have dermabrasion, a laser treatment that helps her fight skin cancer and remove the top layer of skin, including cancer cells that can cause bruising.
In fact, last year, a large scar appeared on the exact same area of the “Working Girl” actress’s face.
A closer look revealed that a small portion of the tear, which appeared to have been stitched together, remained open and healed.
While the cause of Griffith’s scar is unknown, the actor has previously talked about how the diagnosis has affected his career.

A few weeks later, the actress shared a photo of her with her nose bandaged to encourage people to get their sunspots checked.
“Now the basil cell skin cancer that was removed was bandaged again after dermabrasion, the final step,” he wrote. “If you have it, get it fixed. BE CAREFUL if you are lying in the sun, exposed to a lot of sun.”
“Use a sun screen. Have it checked by your dermatologist. If you don’t have one, get one or go to the nearest clinic and ask to be tested. More information to come! 💋”
Griffith first announced his skin cancer diagnosis in 2009 after walking the red carpet with a bruised eye.
Although many thought the bruise was from then-wife Antonio Banderas, the actor admitted to having surgery to remove early-stage cancer from his face.
Griffith’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
