It’s so golden.
Meghan Markle accepted the 2023 Women of Vision award at a glittering gala in New York last night, and her equally sparkly gown is a departure from the royal wardrobe that shows she’s no longer trying to “fit in”.
Wearing a sleeveless Johanna Ortiz number and a slim cut on her stomach, the former “Suits” actress shone as she accepted the award from feminist icon Gloria Steinem, and her dress may have contained a secret message to royalty.
The 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex is known for wearing almost exclusively neutral colors like black, white and beige to “not stand out” as a senior royal, while for last night’s awards show she wore a shiny metallic gold dress that looked more like something. She wore it when she was a Hollywood star.
“I seldom dressed in colour,” Markle said of his time as a senior royal in the third episode of Netflix’s “Harry & Meghan” documentary series.
The duchess, who married 38-year-old Prince Harry in 2018, said she doesn’t want to wear the same color as another member of the family at events, adding that “it’s being considered”.
“‘Well, what’s a color they’re probably never going to wear? Camel? Beige? White?” he continued. “I’m not trying to stand out here.”

She definitely stood out at last night’s awards, joining the Duke of Sussex with her mom, Doria Ragland, for the elegant evening.
Alongside her bold gold dress, she wore gold Tom Ford stilettos ($1,350), a Carolina Herrera clutch, and a pair of bold studded J. Crew hoop earrings.
The event also celebrates Prince Harry’s visit to King Henry III. With Gwyneth Paltrow and other celebrities.
Now that the coronation is over and there are rumors of a new blog entry on the horizon, there is a feeling we’ll see some more glowing looks in the future.
