Meg Ryan was unrecognizable as she made rare appearances in support of her friend Michael J. Fox’s new documentary.
The “Sleepless in Seattle” star, who hasn’t been photographed since November, stepped out for a screening of “Still” at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall on Wednesday.
Ryan, 61, smiled as he posed for a photo with a few of his friends, including Bill Murray and Elvis Costello.
She wore brown plaid pants, a red top, and a black trench coat for the trip and paired the look with a pair of black boots.
Fans criticized the actor’s new image on social media.
“What did Meg Ryan do to your face?!” An interested fan askedduring tweeted another, “Is This Meg Ryan Now? What happened? Christ……”
“Is this really Meg Ryan 😱, so this is so embarrassing and incredibly sad,” added a third critic.
Several fans blamed Ryan’s different look on plastic surgery, which he has yet to confirm or deny.
“What did Jesus do? Meg Ryan looks awful. Obviously her and Madonna’s plastic surgeons are the same,” wrote a reviewer.
Other fans defended the “You’ve Got Mail” star’s mien, saying, “Everyone gets old. Please stop this.”

Over the years, the mother-of-two woman’s appearance has changed, leading to rhetoric among fans speculating about what has been done to her face.
Ryan has previously been candid about the negativity surrounding his appearance and told Porter magazine in 2015 that he “didn’t pay much attention” to the gossip.
“There’s so much hate in the world today, it’s too easy to judge,” the “City of Angels” star said at the time.
“Imagine you are an enemy, how stupid! My female friends don’t sit and talk… well, sometimes there are conversations like this, but the people I care about are growing up children, talking about what kind of world they’re going to, what we eat, what we breathe.
