Sunset Sale star Maya Vander celebrates great news!
A source confirmed to PEOPLE that Vander, 39, is expecting a baby. The news comes almost a year and a half after she announced the devastating news that she suffered a 38-week pregnancy loss in December 2021.
“Yesterday was the hardest day of my life,” Vander wrote on Instagram that month. “Instead of giving birth to a baby, I go home with a keepsake box … I don’t wish that on anyone.”
“A regular weekly check-up turned into a nightmare I never thought would happen to me,” he added. “Since I shared my pregnancies on the show, I knew I had to post about it and avoid the ‘when was your due date’ question. You’ll always be in our hearts baby Mason.”
She shared that she had a miscarriage in June 2022, six months after her stillbirth.
Vander, the mother of her older children, Aiden and Elle, shared that she learned a few months later that the loss of her baby boy had been “a freak accident” after she and her husband, David Miller, had spent weeks with no response as to what had happened.
“We got the autopsy report,” he explained. “And it was just a bad accident. [umbilical] cord mixed with swallowed placenta.”
She added that her “amazing” husband and children have helped her get through this pain: “My children are wonderful. They keep me up and I have a job and I’m busy so I don’t have time to sit and cry all day.”
But the real estate professional realized that although she felt “very lucky” to have raised “two beautiful children” at the time, she still had hopes of having another child.

“I think part of the recovery is getting pregnant again,” she said. “Hopefully I will, we’ll see.”
