Martin Lawrence gave insight into the health of his friend Jamie Foxx a week after the Oscar-winning actor’s “medical complication”.
The “Martin” alum told Extra on Thursday that the 55-year-old is “in better shape”.
Lawrence, 58, shared his well-wishes, describing Foxx as “one of the best we’ve had in Hollywood.”
“Not only is he one of the best entertainers, he’s also a good person. … My prayers go out every night for him and I wish him the best.
On April 12, Foxx’s oldest child, daughter Corinne, revealed her father’s health fears via Instagram.
“My father… had a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, thanks to quick action and great care, she’s already on her way to recovery,” the 29-year-old actress said in a statement signed by the “Foxx family”.
The message continued, “We know how much he is loved and we appreciate your prayers.”
While Corinne and her family members have not covered Foxx’s progress since then, People reported last week that the singer was “consistently recovering” while she was hospitalized in Georgia.
Another source told CNN that the doctors were “running tests and are still trying to figure out exactly what happened” to the Grammy winner.
Foxx’s latest movie, “Back in Action,” took a short break from production after he was hospitalized on April 11.
But on Monday, co-star Cameron Diaz was photographed on set with Foxx’s stunt double.

The film, which has the distinction of being the first film of the actor since his retirement in 2014, was mired in scandal.
Foxx reportedly suffered a meltdown on set last month, which resulted in four crew members being fired and allegedly prompting 50-year-old Diaz to consider retiring again.
At the time, the “Blame It” singer found herself the target of a $40,000 scam, according to The Sun.
Foxx’s “Back in Action” co-stars did not comment on his hospitalization, but Kerry Washington, Nick Cannon, and many more A-listers showed support via social media.
Lawrence wrote that he sent “a lot of love and a lot of blessings” to the comedian.
