Louis Tomlinson’s concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado had to be canceled at the last minute due to heavy hail.
Around 9:30 on Wednesday night, while the audience were waiting for the “Two of Us” singer to take the stage, all of a sudden, large hailstones began to rain down on them.
Despite rushing to find shelter, seven people were hospitalized and another 90 were treated in medical tents for cuts, bruises and fractures.
Many fans’ cars were also damaged in the storm.
One fan told CBS Colorado that the venue warned them about the coming storm just moments before the chaos.
“We didn’t expect this to happen. It was like, ‘Oh, take the warning bunker,’ and then suddenly, boom! said Mikayla Ingram.
Just hours later, the former One Direction singer tweeted “destroyed” It’s about having to cancel the show.
Tomlinson said, “I send my love to all those affected by the extreme weather conditions at Red Rocks last night. wrote in another statement Thursday. “I hope everyone has returned home safely and everyone injured is recovering, it was devastating to see so many of you affected.”
He also thanked his team and first responders for their “speed and care” in handling the situation in such “extreme conditions”.
Tomlinson, 31, will play in Seattle, Washington on Saturday for the next stop on the “Faith in the Future World Tour.”
This week has been a crazy week for concerts and most of the events involve crazy fan encounters.
Bebe Rexha had to have stitches Sunday night after a careless concert attendant threw her cell phone in her face while she was performing in New York.
A video from the event shows the 33-year-old “I’m Good” singer falling to her knees in pain after receiving a blow to the eye.
The alleged attacker, Nicolas Malvagna, was later arrested and charged with assault.
A few days later, a man ran to the stage Near the end of Ava Max’s concert in Los Angeles.
The man slapped the “Sweet But Psycho” singer in the face as she was led out by security.
“He slapped me so hard it scratched the inside of my eye,” said Max, 29, after the show. “Never going to a show again, but thank you fans for being flamboyant tonight in LA!”
