Lisa Rinna never expected that she would break the internet with the butler wig she wore to Vivienne Westwood’s Paris Fashion Week fashion show in March.
“The butler’s wig that drives everyone crazy! They didn’t know what to do with it,” he says on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast while promoting his partnership with Don Julio Rosado.
“I never would have guessed that little butler wig would cause so much excitement.”
The 59-year-old “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” graduate says the viral hairstyle was a last-minute decision she made with the encouragement of her stylist Danyul Brown and members of her flamboyant team.
“It was in the background and I… showed them the outfit and they were like, ‘Did you ever wear that wig?’ they said,” he remembers.
“And I looked at him and said, ‘Oh yeah, I like that. And she put it on and I was like, ‘Oh my god, she looks really good in that outfit’.”
While Rinna felt that her faux bowl cut complemented the bold printed blazer and metallic leggings, countless netizens focused on her “uncanny resemblance to what she’s doing” for a particular “Stranger Things” character.
“Will Byers??? is living her best life,” one fan commented on her Instagram post about Rinna’s look. Another said, “Lisa in the Will Byers era.”
Meanwhile, others thought that Rinna looked like some of the weirder characters from the “Shrek” animated movie series, like Willy Wonka and Lord Farquaad.
“How was the chocolate factory?” asked one, “If Lord Farquaad killed him.”
Other comparisons included The Beatles and ’70s pop star Toni Tennille, none of which bothered Rinna.
“I really like doing this kind of thing,” she says of the different ensembles, hair and makeup she’s tried in Paris, and other Fashion Month stops in New York, Milan, London and Copenhagen. She stepped on the podium as a model.
“It’s like my own drag version,” the founder of Rinna Beauty elaborates. “I’ve always said I’m a gay trapped in a female body – or so my kids call me. My kids say, ‘You’re a gay man trapped in a female body.

The actress stunned in an all-pink outfit, again curated by Brown.
“It’s really cool,” she says of the tweed jacket and shorts, which she pairs with opaque leggings, high heels, pink sunglasses, and lots of matching bling.
“My stylist Danyul Brown acted like it was nobody’s business and we’re having fun. It’s really fun. It’s just fun right now,” adds Rinna. “We’re just having fun, and Don Julio fits their Rosado perfectly. [tequila]”
