Lily-Rose Depp is her father’s biggest fan.
The “Idol” star praised Johnny Depp’s critically acclaimed performance in his new movie “Jeanne du Barry” at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
“I’m so happy for him. “I’m so excited,” Lily-Rose told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday.
“And it’s so great that we make projects that we’re proud of.”
The 23-year-old actress and the 59-year-old “Pirates of the Caribbean” star were the town’s hottest names at this month’s festival in France.
Johnny received a seven-minute standing ovation for the historic series when it premiered on May 16.
Cannes marks the first time a movie has been promoted since the actor won the high-profile defamation lawsuit he filed against his ex-wife Amber Heard in June 2022. Don’t go anywhere.
In “Jeanne du Barry,” Johnny is King XV. Louis and co-stars with Benjamin Lavernhe and Maïwenn, who are also the project’s directors.
Movie buffs greeted the “Scissor Hands” star with open arms, but social media users trolled his rotting teeth as he smiled for the cameras on the red carpet ahead of the premiere.
Page Six privately reported on Tuesday that Johnny had to be “cleaned up” for the appearance.
Lily-Rose received a five-minute standing ovation Monday when she and The Weeknd’s controversial HBO series “The Idol” was released.
However, not all audiences were so happy with the “King” star’s raunchy performance, and many criticized her for showing too much skin in the drama co-created by “Euphoria” writer Sam Levinson.
“Rarely does a scene pass without the camera showing her boobs or ass,” wrote the Hollywood Reporter in a scathing review.
Another critic called the second episode of the series “directly pornographic” and claimed that Levinson, who had a history of problems on set, abused Lily-Rose.
Still, Scion praised her show and shared how exciting it was to watch it for the first time with the audience.
“It was incredible,” he said in an “ET” interview. “It felt like such a beautiful celebration and the culmination of everything we’ve been through together, and it’s a beautiful process that took place on the show and created this little family together, and it felt really beautiful. ”

“It felt really nice to watch the reaction and all and finally share with the world something we’re all proud of,” she said.
While the father-daughter duo will both premiere at the star-studded festival, they have yet to appear at an event together.
