Lil Wayne has had several successful moments in his life, but how can he remain so indifferent? He doesn’t remember!
Saturday 15th anniversary Tha Carter III. Reflecting on the hit record milestone during an interview with rolling rockThe rapper admitted that it wasn’t all that important to him – but only because he hardly remembered the details.
“I’ll be very honest with you: I don’t know Tha Carter III, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter One from Tha Carter IV” Wayne, 40, told the outlet. “It’s just God’s honest truth. You can lie, you can ask me [about] blah song, I wouldn’t even understand what we were talking about. So it doesn’t matter to me.”
When asked if his great success in 2008 made him different, he stuck to his beliefs.
“No, I don’t even know if it was then. Tha Carter III appeared. That’s all I don’t know. I work every day bro – every day,” said the “How to Love” rapper.
“Also, I always look at it as a curse of gift and curse. I believe that [God] blessed me with this incredible mind, but did not [me] It’s a great memory to remember these incredible things—” he said.
Given his foggy memory, Wayne also said he doesn’t have a favorite project series.
He said, “It’s not my favorite at all. My favorite song is the last song I recorded. And I’ll forget it the next time I record it.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the “Miss Officer” rapper explained her motivation to continue making great rap music.
“Every move, every word, every approach. The reason why I’m still only listening and working on my own words—because I’m involved too. I believe that once you start trying to listen to everybody else, you’re not involved anymore. It’s just that you’re here. You’re happy for me. But not me. I’m working on my own game in a gym. I don’t care how high you jump. I don’t care how fast you run. You can’t even stand next to me with that s-“.
And he has no plans to stop.
The rapper “A Milli” said, “When you work the way I do, it gets tiring and it can shine. And even when you say that, I don’t think you actually mean to stop working or making music.” “You probably mean that you want to retire from everything else. However music [laughs]. When you become a true artist like me, I was born that way. That’s why I think true artists and pioneers never retire. They died doing this.”
Last month, Wayne made headlines and disappointed fans when he stepped off the stage after only performing 30 minutes on his show in Los Angeles.
According to HipHopDX, he got on stage more than an hour late. After opening, she performed for half an hour and brought surprise guest 2 Chainz to the stage and took a break and left the stage to Young Money artists Lil Twist, Yaj Kader and Allan Cubas.
The crowd was reportedly dissatisfied with Wayne’s exit from the stage. Before Cubas could play his second song, Wayne returned to the stage and told Cubas not to sing anymore.
“We appreciate that, but we’re not going to bend over backwards for these people. We’re working hard for this. We’re working very hard,” Wayne told Cubas per video. Shared by a contributor on Twitter.
He then turned to the crowd and said, “This is my main artist Allan, that was Twist, that was Yaj. We are Young Money. Thank you for your time.”
