Kristin Davis is tired of embarrassing her face.
The 58-year-old “And Just Like That” actress recently talked about being “relentlessly ridiculed” for her use of face fillers and her general physical appearance, and said she “sheds tears” for trolls.
“I had the padding and it was good and I had the padding and it was bad,” he told The Telegraph.
Davis believes more women would talk about the work they do if they weren’t afraid of similar backlash.
“I think one of the reasons people aren’t being more open is largely because you’re being shamed by other women like that,” she told Entertainment Tonight earlier this week.
“So sad. We already have enough problems. We don’t need to embarrass each other. For example, it’s a waste of time, but it’s hurting me.
Davis, who plays Charlotte York Goldenblatt on the Max show, added that “everyone can make their own choices” when it comes to their own face and body.
“You can’t criticize others for their choices, mistakes or whatever. This is not helping you. It doesn’t help them. It doesn’t help anyone,” he said.
Davis has taken a more “positive” viewpoint when it comes to her looks.
“I don’t have to look the way I used to. When I look in the mirror, I try to remind myself not to see the shortcomings, because that’s how we are programmed to see them,” he said.
“For example, you cannot grow old. The only way not to grow old is not to be alive, which is obviously not something I want to happen.”
Davis isn’t the only “And Just Like That” star to address criticism of the cast that dares to age in the public eye; Sarah Jessica Parker has strongly criticized the “misogynistic chatter” regarding her naturally bleached roots, while Nakoya Yancey, head of the show’s hair department, previously called such brutal comments “offensive” and “superficial” in an interview with Page Six Style.
Kim Cattrall recently said it’s “about fighting aging in any way I can.”
