As Kevin Costner’s trial over his estranged wife Christine’s request for a child support increase continues Friday, the actor’s forensic accountant has uncovered the alleged spending habits of his client’s former partner.
Saritas Star’s forensic accountant, Tracy Katz, shared a breakdown of the family’s $240,000 monthly expenses; She claims that 49-year-old Christine spends an average of $18,000 a month on designer clothes and more than $3,000 a month on beauty products and treatments.
The forensic accountant claimed that family expenses also included about $40,000 per month for gifts and flowers and about $9,000 withdrawn from ATMs. Katz subtracted these amounts before determining how much of these monthly expenses were spent on the couple’s three children, Cayden (16) and Hayes (14), and daughter Grace (13).
Ultimately, Costner was ordered to pay Christine $63,209 a month in child support after a two-day trial in Santa Barbara.
In May, Christine filed for divorce from Costner after 18 years of marriage.
The following month, he demanded $248,000 a month in child support, which appeared in court documents, which he claimed was “less than what is needed to keep the children in their usual lifestyles”.
In July, a judge ordered Costner to pay Christine more than $129,000 in monthly child support for the couple’s children.
At a pre-trial briefing in Santa Barbara this week, Christine requested $175,057 per month in child support, an increase of $46,000 from the $129k she received, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
“My biggest concern is that the court has decided that I should not pay child support above my children’s and Christine’s needs,” Kevin said in court.
