Kesha was almost a bride-to-be.
The “TiK ToK” singer revealed in a new interview with Rolling Stone on Tuesday that she was secretly engaged for a while but called it off.
Kesha, 36, did not reveal the identity of her ex or share more details about the failed engagement.
However, she noted that the man who proposed to her was “still a friend” and that “Too Far Gone”, a song from her upcoming album “Gag Order”, was written after parting ways.
Page Six reached out to Kesha’s representative for more information, but the identity of her mysterious ex is currently unknown.
The “Die Young” singer was most recently in a long-term relationship with writer Brad Ashenfelter. They first started dating in 2014.
The couple maintained a relatively low profile throughout their courtship, but were spotted taking a romantic walk together on a beach in May 2021.
It is unclear whether they resigned. However, Kesha has been open about not being in a monogamous relationship before.
“He’s a lover, but he also lets me be me,” the “We R Who We R” singer said of Ashenfelter in an interview with Attitude magazine in 2019.
“You know, I’ll call him and say, ‘I had fun tonight, I met a sweet girl and we had a really good time.’
Kesha also said she realized at the time that Ashenfelter “should be set free” but “will always come back to the barn to get apples from my son.”

Last June, Kesha, who briefly dated Australian drummer Alex Carapetis from August to November 2010, opened up on social media about her continued exploration of her sexuality.
“I’m not gay. I’m not straight. I don’t know what I am. I love people,” the “Prayer” singer wrote in an Instagram post that has since been deleted.
“I love people because we’re all on our own little journeys of consciousness, dancing around the sun ☀️ how weird, interesting and fun this life is, isn’t it?”
Later, “I refuse to really be anything but open to anything 🌟.”
While promoting her new album, Kesha also told Rolling Stone that she felt like she was “giving birth” to “the most intimate thing” she’s ever created with “Gag Order,” which will be out May 19.
“I’ve been really immersed in my uglier emotions and less fun side of me,” she said of Rick Rubin’s new project, which is being produced by Rick Rubin.
“It’s scary to be vulnerable. The fact that I’ve compiled a whole record of these emotions, anger, insecurity, anxiety, grief, pain, regret, it’s all very frustrating – but also very healing.
“Gag Order” also features Kesha’s producer Dr. He will be discussing some of his ongoing legal disputes with Luke, especially with the song “Fine Line”.
“I feel like there’s been an implied silence order for so long,” he told Rolling Stone.
