Katy Perry met with King Henry III to see the new monarch be crowned on Saturday morning. He arrived at Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey in London.
The 38-year-old “Daisies” singer paired a knee-length dress with a short-sleeved blazer and opera-length matching gloves to choose a beautiful magenta suit by Vivienne Westwood.
Shortly finding her place in the cloister, Perry completed the look with matching enchanting pearl earrings, a white Westwood-designed handbag, and a pearl necklace ($430).
As purple has historically been associated with royalty and Westwood is from the UK, the choice of both color and designer obviously pays homage to British culture.
The designer, who died in December 2022, was known as a “punk priestess” and was crowned Queen II in 1992.
King of Page Six Keep up to date with Charles’ coronation news
Let’s hope Perry keeps their underwear (or not wearing underwear) a secret during the date ceremony, because the “American Idol” judge will be performing at the coronation concert Sunday night with assistant judges Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli.
While the two are away, Ed Sheeran and Alanis Morissette will take over their responsibilities on Perry’s recently controversial ABC singing competition series.
Perry, whom Charles has appointed as the British Asian Trust’s Ambassador in 2020, is accompanied by British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, while other attendees at the historic event include 73-year-old Richie and First Lady Jill Biden and her granddaughter.
Last week, the “Dark Horse” singer announced that she will be staying at Windsor Castle during her visit, adding, “I’m really excited. I may be posting too much because I will be in a castle.”
