Jeremy Renner’s snowplow accident in January was so gruesome it caused his eye to pop out of his socket.
“IT [was like being under] “Hawkeye” star, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” view Monday.
“It just missed every vertebra, it didn’t hit any organs,” he explained. “My brain didn’t swell.”
But Renner, 52, said: “My eye popped out. That’s weird. But I was pretty lucky that none of the organs were damaged.
The actor once again referred to the injury in his eye while explaining how “sad” this experience was for his nephew, Alex Fries, who witnessed a terrible accident on New Year’s Eve.
“He should have seen his Uncle Jeremy on the ground,” he said. “I didn’t see anything but [he saw] blood, eyes everywhere.”

Renner first detailed the incident in an emotional interview with Diane Sawyer published last week.
“I believe I can see with my other eye,” he recalled at the time.
The Oscar nominee, who was “always awake” before being flown off from his Nevada property, broke more than 30 bones after the 14,330-pound PistenBully crushed him.
“I felt like someone took the wind from you,” he said. “There’s just too much going on in the body to feel pain. This is everything. It’s like your soul is suffering.”
Renner seemed to be in high spirits as Renner guzzled with Jimmy Kimmel to the studio audience on Monday about his recent trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain.
When the 55-year-old late night host accused his guest of “teasing his injury”, Renner revealed he was still in “a ton of pain”.
The “Hurt Locker” star continued to credit her ordeal for helping her lose 20 pounds, quit smoking, and clear her schedule, adding, “My year was pretty tight until I got crushed.”
