This star has not changed the Cannes dress code.
Jennifer Lawrence made headlines for wearing her heels on the 2023 Cannes Film Festival red carpet last month, but the only explanation she made was that her shoes didn’t fit.
The 32-year-old “Silver Linings Playbook” actress broke the record by admitting that she “had no idea” about “the whole discussion about people wearing flat shoes” at the glitzy film festival in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“I’d really like to fix that,” Lawrence said when Turner talked about his red carpet somersault.
“I wasn’t making a political statement, not that I wouldn’t,” the “Hunger Games” star said, adding that she “had no idea” that other stars were wearing flats or “walking barefoot on the red carpet” in protest. famously strict Cannes dress code.
“My shoes were too big,” Lawrence explained. “I wore heels but forgot to take a picture with my production team Excellent Cadaver. So, we had to take a Perfect Cadaver photo and I knew if I wore shoes that were one size too big, I would eat st.
The “X-Men” star decided to swap out her red heels, which she paired with a matching Dior Haute Couture ball gown, and was surprised by her reaction.

“I put on the flip-flops and then everyone was like, ‘What a statement! Wow!’” and continued, “I’m in favor of making a statement. I just wish it was on purpose.”
While Lawrence’s moment of shoes breaking the dress code was a coincidence, Kristen Stewart deliberately took off her heels in 2018 and walked barefoot on the red carpet to protest the Cannes Film Festival’s alleged flat-free rule.
Maybe next year Lawrence will stay in their apartments.
