Jamie Foxx’s rep denied a conspiracy theory that the COVID-19 vaccine caused the actor’s mysterious medical emergency.
Gossip columnist AJ Benza told coronavirus skeptic Dr. Drew Pinsky’s “Dr. Drew” podcast and said he heard Foxx developed a blood clot after receiving the injection and subsequently suffered a stroke.
However, a broadcaster for the “Ray” star told NBC News on Wednesday that Benza’s allegations were “completely false”.
Page Six reached out to Foxx’s representative for additional comment.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the vaccines were “safe and effective.”
The 55-year-old Oscar-winning actress was hospitalized in mid-April for what her daughter Corinne Foxx described as merely a “medical complication”.
“Fortunately, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
“We know how much he is loved and we appreciate your prayers. The family wants privacy during this time.”
A month later, Corinne, 29, confirmed that her father had been “leaving the hospital for weeks” after a false report that her family was “preparing for the worst.”
“Sad to see how crazy the media is,” she wrote on her Instagram Story in May.

“My father has been out of the hospital for weeks to recover. He was actually playing pickles yesterday.”
TMZ later reported that Jamie entered a physical rehabilitation center in Chicago.
Jamie only mentioned his health issue once to thank his fans for their support.
“Appreciate all the love!!! I feel blessed,” she wrote on Instagram in early May, adding praying hands, a red heart, and a fox emoji.
The “Django Unchained” star also addressed Nick Cannon, who hosted the game show “Beat Shazam” along with Kelly Osbourne.
“I appreciate you son @NickCannon,” she wrote and added, “See you soon.”
Cannon, 42, said he would soon share more about his friend’s illness “when he’s ready”.
“There’s something I’ve always respected about how Jamie has progressed throughout his career, if you’ve noticed, he’s always been extremely professional and extremely private,” he told “Extra” last week.
“I mean, you hear nothing but the great work he’s done as a professional, and you know, you can only respect the fact that he handled this situation the same way.”
The “Masked Singer” host added, “When she’s ready, I believe she will address the waiting fans around the world in a way only she can.”
