Four weeks after Jamie Foxx’s family announced that the actor had suffered a medical complication, they are addressing rumors about the actor’s health.
His daughter, Corinne, 29, wrote on her Instagram Story Friday, “Update from the family: Sad to see the media have gone so crazy. Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, he’s recovering.” Preparing for the “worst”.
“Actually,” he continued, “he was playing pickles yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support! We have an exciting job announcement next week too!”
Last Wednesday, a message on Foxx’s Instagram said, “Appreciate all the love!!! I feel blessed.” At the same time, the 55-year-old actress added “See you soon” to her Instagram Story.

Corinne shared that Foxx was “on track to recover” at that point “due to quick action and great care” at the time. The Foxx family also thanked their fans for their prayers while giving that update.
A source later told PEOPLE on April 21 that the player’s health continues to improve. “He is fine, thank God,” the source said at the time. “He’s still in the hospital and the doctors are doing tests, but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation.”
Multiple sources told PEOPLE that Foxx was continually improving while she was trying to recover at a medical facility in Georgia.
Production of the Netflix movie resumed soon after. He was last seen filming on April 10. A stuntman replaced Foxx as he was hospitalized, and a second person served as his photo stunt.
On May 5, a source from the actor’s circle told PEOPLE that “Jamie’s condition is stable and not currently life-threatening.”
“[Doctors] He’s doing more testing and wants to be completely sure he’ll be okay before he’s allowed to “leave the hospital,” the source said, adding that Foxx was advised to “keep his stress level low” when discharged.
The source added that the hospital was “the last place Jamie wanted to be”, even though he needed medical care.
“He has many ongoing projects,” the source said. “He gets things done; he’s focused and smart. What happened to him medically is serious enough to keep him in the hospital.”
