Ali Fedotowsky remembers very well his first interaction with Jake Gyllenhaal.
On Wednesday’s episode of the “Women at the Top” podcast, Roxy Manning asked the former “Bachelorette” about her worst celebrity encounter while working as E! News reporter.
“Sorry Jake Gyllenhaal, I’m going to tell you Taylor Swift right now,” the 38-year-old replied, referring to Swift’s multiple songs about her romance with the “Brokeback Mountain” actor.
“Jake Gyllenhaal is going on the red carpet – my first red carpet for E! News – I’m like, ‘I’m going to kill him. I will be very good. I practiced. I rehearsed my questions. I was so ready to go.” he remembered.
“She walked in, my heels were shaking – which, my heels are awful – and I said to her, ‘Hi Jake, who did you bring tonight?’ For example, for a date, like, who is your date tonight? He claimed, “He said ‘goodbye’ and walked away from me.”
Fedotowsky says he immediately “started crying” thinking he’d lose his job – only to claim that the 42-year-old actor treated the reporter next to him the same way.
The former reality TV star was shocked by Gyllenhaal’s demeanor, stating that she had done “numerous” interviews and knew “how easy it is to be nice” to reporters.
In fact, Fedotowsky admitted that working as a red carpet reporter was his “least favorite job.” [she] There was never any.”

He did, however, give a shout out to the stars he had better experience interviewing, describing Tom Hanks as “the best guy ever” and Kris Jenner as “the kindest, best person” who was “very smart”.
“All the Kardashians, Kim [Kardashian]They are very kind,” he added. “Reality stars in general are very good.”
While Fedotowsky disliked her time as a reporter, this led to her finding her current husband, Kevin Manno.
The couple started dating in 2013 after meeting on “1st Look”. Fedotowsky was the host at the time, while Manno was the reporter on the syndicated show.
The lovebirds tied the knot four years later and have since embraced their 6-year-old daughter Molly and 4-year-old son Riley.
