In a video with more than 4 million views, Sloop smashed the preview and shared his own view of potential parallels, which he said “created a barrier to Barbie’s story.”
“We get the feeling that Barbie is looking for the meaning of something else like Dorothy, but instead of leaving and finding something exceptional and brightly colored like Dorothy does, I think Barbie will go to the real world and find it. Things just don’t work the same way,” Sloop said in the video.

Despite many fan theories about BarbieIt’s unlikely anything will be known for sure until it hits theaters on July 21, 2023.
As most of the cast said, it was all about secrecy about the movie.
“People have no idea what to expect, and I think that’s the right atmosphere,” America Ferrera told PEOPLE about the movie, in which she starred as one of the few non-Barbie characters. “Whatever you think it is, it’s not. It’s something else.”
Ferrell, 55, was similarly tight-lipped about her character. In November, during a conversation with Mattel, he announced that he was playing the CEO. Wall Street Journal Magazinebut he stopped himself immediately without saying anything else.
