Ella, the eldest daughter of Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans, looked distressed after a judge rejected her father’s request to issue a restraining order against his girlfriend.
The 13-year-old was spotted outside the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday during a lunch break with her younger sister Elsie and her mother.
Wearing a tan hoodie and sunglasses on her head, Ella was visibly sad as she walked with her head bowed and her arms folded.
Elsie consoled her sister as she wiped her tears for a moment. She put her hand on 9-year-old Ella’s shoulder and then hugged her.
Evans looked sad too, putting his hands on his head as he stood outside.
The 54-year-old British actress was also photographed sitting on the side of the building, bending over to talk to her eldest daughter.
The decision comes nearly a month after Ella filed a restraining order against Gruffudd, 49, and his girlfriend, Bianca Wallace.
According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the teenager claimed that Wallace, 30, “slammed the door on his head” after an explosive argument broke out at the “Fantastic Four” actor’s home.
In the filing, Ella claims she first met the “Expired” actress after the alleged altercation allegedly took place on May 26.
Ella was reportedly upset when she saw her father’s new girlfriend at her house during her “night visit” and “told him in the past that she didn’t want to meet Wallace”.
The young girl claimed she was “so upset” with Gruffudd that she “threw milk on her bed, spilled mustard on the floor and threw raw oatmeal on her” – she claimed that the couple called her “manipulative”, “abusive”. and “narcissist”.
When Ella tried to leave, she allegedly took a physical turn between him and Wallace, “who tried to hold her back” by “raising her arms”.
“I managed to get around it and open the door,” Ella said in the filing. “I was able to walk halfway to the door, but while I was still in the door frame, Defendant slammed the door on me, causing the door to slam on my head as well as my arm. My arm was bruised and I had a small bump on my head.”

The Daily Mail reported that the filing also included photos of the bruises on Ella’s arm and hand, which she claims were a result of the alleged altercation.
Allegedly, Ella and her younger sister then ran down the street before their father could catch up with them.
Allegedly, a family friend later took the girls to Evans’ home.
The next day, Evans allegedly saw the bruises on his daughter and they decided to report the incident to the police.
Ella reportedly sought a five-year restraining order against Wallace, claiming she was “fearing” for her “personal safety”.
The trial in the case against Gruffudd was due to be held on June 22, but was postponed to July 13 as part of a wider custody trial, according to the Daily Mail.
Gruffudd has struggled with Evans in and out of court in recent years.
In March 2021, the “Titanic” actress filed for divorce from him after 14 years of marriage.
The “102 Dalmatians” actress accused her estranged husband of having an affair with her friend for three years.
In response, Gruffudd filed for a restraining order against his estranged wife, claiming he had “made false false accusations”, “sells false stories to the press” and threatened to “destroy” her career if she left him.
Last August, she received a three-year suspension against Evans amid the ongoing custody battle over their daughter.
