Kevin Costner will soon be a single man again since his second wife, Christine Baumgartner, filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage.
However, the first time the “Yellowstone” star was in this position – with his first wife, Cindy Silva – it cost him quite a bit and resulted in one of the most costly divorces in Hollywood of all time.
Costner was married to Silva from 1978 to 1994, and the long marriage ended amid rumors that he was unfaithful.
According to a People cover story dated November 7, 1994, the “Dancing With Wolves” actress decided to end the relationship over rumors that her then-husband was cheating on a woman named Michelle Amaral on the Hawaii set of the movie “Water World.” started to warm up.
At the time, Costner was reportedly having a romantic fling with the 35-year-old hula dancer who was performing at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel, where the science movie was filmed.
According to the magazine, Amaral is married and has three children, and her husband Albert has previously denied the love rumors.
Whether these rumors are true or not, an insider pointed out that Costner may have had a prying eye for a while.
“I don’t know anyone who doesn’t know him. [and other women]”said a studio source in the People story.
Just before news of the first divorce broke out, Costner admitted to the New York Daily News that the marriage was “difficult”.
“The temptations are quite strong and there is a hungry world out there waiting for you to fall. “I mean, you can’t even bother without paying a big price,” the “Bodyguard” star told the newspaper, according to People.
“I try to live my life with a certain dignity and common sense – but marriage is hard, very hard work.”

Besides her alleged flirtation with Amaral, there were reports that Costner had previously cheated on Silva with a nightclub receptionist named Sheri Stewart while filming the 1991 movie “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” in the UK.
The actor reportedly denied the gossip, saying he was “out of the wall” at the time, but said, “I’m worried about the impact of fame on my family and about losing what I have.”
Costner and Silva did not address the issue in their joint statement to announce the dissolution of their marriage.
“After 16 years of being together, we are ending our marriage. We amicably resolved all issues regarding our children and our financial affairs and a full prenuptial agreement was reached.”
Cindy has reportedly left in an $80 million deal and shares custody of her children: Annie, Lily, and Joe.
