The Weeknd may be saving a “reminder” about a past love on his phone.
Fans are convinced it’s not his back-on, off-again girlfriend, Bella Hadid, after the musician stole a voicemail allegedly from the model during her concert in Lisbon, Portugal.
“Hey, it’s me. Before singing The Weekend 2020 hit “Blinding Lights,” an unidentified female voice was heard saying, “I know it’s been a long time, but I was just thinking about you and I’m sorry for everything.”
A clip of the voicemail posted to TikTok has many viewers wondering if the mysterious voice belonged to Hadid – despite the last time she and The Weeknd said she quit in 2019.
“She’ll never forget him,” commented one fan, while another commented, “The voicemail sounds like something out of a movie.”
The third wrote, “He’s so obsessed.”
Hadid, 26, and The Weeknd, 33, first formed a romantic bond in 2015 before their relationship collapsed in the fall of 2016.
At the start of their romance, Page Six reported that the two were so hung up on each other and even made their red carpet debut at the 2016 Grammys. However, they parted ways only months later.
The two briefly dated other people before rekindling their romance in 2017.
For nearly two years, the singer and model appeared to be in love with each other and often shared glimpses of their lives together on social media.
But it wasn’t long before the duo broke up again in August 2019, per E! News. “They are in different places physically and mentally at the moment,” a source said at the time.
The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye) released his song “Blinding Lights” a year after they broke up with their romance.
The music video for the award-winning hit featured the same voicemail that the singer has continued to use at concerts ever since.
Fans went crazy after the message that The Weeknd last played the headlines of Coachella in Indio, Calif, in April 2022.

Reddit users previously speculated that the mysterious voice belonged to vocalist Ruth Radelet from electronic group Chromatics, while others believe Hadid is behind it.
The Weeknd never made either theory public.
Despite the fact that fans have always questioned The Weeknd’s dating life, the singer hasn’t been making headlines lately with their rumored relationship.
Instead, he gets a lot of backlash for his acting debut in “The Idol.”
Criticized by viewers as a “rape fantasy”, the HBO show stars Lily-Rose Depp as actor Tedros and Jocelyn.
The two go hot and heavy on the chart show, which has been dubbed everything from “the worst series ever” to “comicly bad”.
After airing on June 4, the show lost more than 100,000 viewers after bringing in over 900,000 viewers for the first episode.
Fans can watch The Weeknd star in the controversial six-episode series now on HBO, with new episodes airing on Sundays.
