Call it the Easter egg.
Taylor Swift may have hinted that she and her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn quit the job a week before the news of their breakup broke.
Fans believe Swift was hinting at her relationship status when she replaced the infamous love letter she wrote to Alwyn “Invisible String” with “The 1” during the March 31 show of Eras Tour in Arlington, Texas.
One fan captioned a TikTok video in which she cried when she “realized why Taylor changed the invisible lineup for 1”, the lyrics containing “would be fun if it were you”.
“This was not the easter egg I was hoping for this weekend,” wrote another over his video.
The post was accompanied by a caption that read “changing the invisible string to 1 might have been more intentional then”. [sic] We’ve thought about it, but I refuse to believe it’s true.”
A third person interjected, “Taylor changed the playlist from invisible to 1 because she became aware of the breakup.”
A source close to Swift, 33, and Alwyn, 32, confirmed to Page Six on Saturday that the couple had split.
“It wasn’t dramatic,” the source said, noting that the breakup happened a few weeks ago and there was no animosity between the two.
“[The relationship] he just ran his route.
Page Six reached out to representatives of both stars multiple times, but received no response.
Fans noticed that the “Chats With Friends” star didn’t appear on Swift’s Eras Tour last month, but that didn’t arouse suspicion as the former couple were notoriously private.
After meeting at the 2016 Met Gala, the couple began dating that year, though their relationship wasn’t made public until 2017.
Despite raging speculation about which of the Swifties’ songs were about the “Catherine Called Birdy” actor, Swift and Alwyn kept their mouths shut.

“I realize people want to know this side of things,” Alwyn told Vogue in 2018.
“I think we’ve successfully become very special and that has now sunk in for people.”
Swift echoed her ex’s comments in the 2020 documentary “Miss Americana.”
“We decided together that we wanted our relationship to be private,” she said.
“Despite [my public image in 2016] It was really scary, I was happy.”
He continued, “But I wasn’t happy the way I was trained to be happy. It was happiness without the contribution of anyone else. We were just… happy.
