Not everyone is “Mad in Love” for Beyoncé and Jay-z’s humble new $200 million home.
Fans have slammed the powerful couple’s lavish Malibu mansion on social media, claiming it has “all the glamor of an empty Costco distribution center.”
“It would never surprise me how celebrities can buy such ugly homes that look like $200 million worth of construction sites,” one fan said of the expansive 30,000-square-foot concrete house.
“They really spent $200 million on prison walls. 😭,” tweeted another, “They could have bought a prison just because it looked the same. I saved money too!”
Others called the images of war.
“It looks like an ugly, WWII bunker or an abandoned shopping mall,” one wrote, while another wrote, “Nobody catches a cold in that house because it’s barren!”
Some were frank in their assessments.

“God, this is so ugly,” wrote another, “This is such an ugly house.”
A fan joked about what to get as a housewarming gift.
“So they like cakes? My welcome home gift looks a bit cheap,” they tweeted.
It was reported last week that Beyoncé, 41, and Jay-Z, 53, bought their new home in California, costing $200 million.
According to TMZ, the real estate is the most expensive home ever sold in that state.
Even more impressive, the couple, who share a daughter, Blue Ivy, and twins, 11 and 5-year-olds, Sir and Rumi, are said to have paid for their new dig entirely in cash.
The house was designed by the famous architect Tadao Ando.
Andao grew up in Japan and was deeply influenced by the country’s backup architecture and design.
He also created Kanye West’s $57.3 million mansion, which he bought when he was divorcing Kim Kardashian in 2021.
Apparently, “Drunk in Love” collaborators stole the build, and it was originally priced at $295 million.
It was previously owned by art collector William Bell and reportedly took 15 years to build.
The couple is no stranger to expensive real estate.
In 2017, they dropped $26 million on a 12,000-square-foot Hamptons mansion in East Hampton’s exclusive Georgica Pond.
