Emily Ratajkowski talked about the video she made love to Harry Styles, which went viral last month. talk to Spanish VogueThe actress said she “didn’t expect” the video to leak and dismissed the notion that she and Styles’ last ex, Olivia Wilde, were feuding.
Last month, video footage of Styles and Ratajkowski clasping their lips together at Toyko was leaked. Ratajkowski is currently divorcing his ex of four years from embattled producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, while Styles and Wilde broke up last November.
talk to Spanish Vogue Reporter Eva Blanco Medina Ratajkowski said: “It’s so weird to have certain experiences and then the whole world knows about them and comments on them. I’m just a person who went from a three-year relationship to a four-year relationship. That’s why I’m in a dating phase for the first time in a long time.”
Ratajkowski also commented on what Blanco Medina describes as the media’s tendency to perpetuate the “narrative of women’s conflict.” The actress first referred to the recent controversy surrounding a 23-year-old Instagram model who said she had a one-year relationship with married Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine before returning to Wilde. (Levine denied the affair last fall but admitted it had “crossed the line”.)
“I’m disappointed with the way the narrative of an attack on this girl is set up,” Ratajkowski said, noting that Levine, as the person in a real relationship, is the one who really has “obligations” to fulfill.
“I feel bad for Olivia,” Ratajkowski added, “because she’s had to endure this situation several times.”
After the kissing video was published, the expected headlines came out; Ratajkowski, who reportedly mingled with Wilde just weeks before the kiss at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, was said to have “begged” Wilde for forgiveness. When asked if his alleged problem with Wilde was “not real,” Ratajkowski replied, “That’s it. It’s just an unfortunate problem.”
But despite the leaked video, it doesn’t seem like Ratajkowski is planning to limit his personal life for the sake of privacy anytime soon. While some celebrities hire security teams and avoid overly public places, Ratajkowski said, “I want to keep zipping up New York, a place I’ve always dreamed of.”
The actor said, “This means there will be articles, tweets, or TikTok made about my personal life in an imprecise way, but today it’s worth it because I prefer to be free.”
Ratajkowski said at this point: Spanish Vogue that her life mostly revolves around her son and her job. However, her biggest privacy concern now revolves around her child.
“Explaining our relationship with the paparazzi is complicated,” Ratajkowski said. “I don’t want you to be afraid of them. But he also needs to know that he’s not their friend. If something happened to him, they wouldn’t run to protect him. I’m sure they would have taken pictures earlier.”
