Ryan Gosling loves House of the Mouse and is not ashamed to admit it.
Disneyland lover John Stamos recently revealed that it helped Gosling overcome his mild embarrassment that he loved the theme park as much as he loved the theme park as an adult.
“Six or seven years ago, I was like, ‘Man, I have to put this Disney thing aside. [because] Who’s going to take me seriously with the Mickey Mouse thing? Stamos, 59, reminded Keke Palmer on an episode of her podcast, “Baby, It’s Keke Palmer.”
However, an alleged dinner party encounter with the 42-year-old Gosling changed his mind.
“’You’re a Disney fan, aren’t you?’” “Full House” graduates remember Gosling asking him.
“‘I say yes. ‘I’m obsessed,’ she says. I’m a Disney adult. I’ll go there myself. I wear headphones and go for a walk. I have a mixtape.’”
Stamos added, “‘Yeah, I’m going too. I’m a Disney guy too.” So this turned the corner for me.
Gosling’s love of the theme park apparently arose in the ’90s when he starred in Disney Channel’s “The Mickey Mouse Club” from 1993 to 1995.
The popular series also featured future star friends such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
Despite Gosling’s love of Disneyland, the “La La Land” star probably won’t have time to wander around as soon as the highly anticipated “Barbie” hits theaters this July.
Gosling plays the iconic Ken character opposite Margot Robbie as Barbie in the Greta Gerwig-directed film.
The onscreen couple wowed the crowd when they appeared at CinemaCon last month wearing their characters.
Gosling admitted that he doubted his “Ken-ergy” before filming began.
“I was living my life and then one day I was bleaching my hair and shaving my legs and wearing bespoke neon clothes and skating on Venice Beach,” he joked.
“Why are there fake tanners on my sheets? Why am I wearing a shirtless jacket? What just happened?”
