Desiigner, who revealed last week that he was undergoing mental health treatment, now faces federal charges after revealing himself on the plane.
According to legal documents obtained by The Daily Beast, the “Panda” rapper, whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, is facing misdemeanor charges for indecent exposure after revealing his genitals multiple times and even masturbating in his seat during the flight. His statement to the feds? He “didn’t have [sex] in a week.”
According to TMZ, the Brooklyn native was on a flight from Tokyo to Minneapolis last weekend when the incident occurred. When the plane landed in Minnesota, he was questioned by authorities before he was eventually released.
The denunciation, filed in Minnesota on Monday, offers even more shocking insight into the bizarre event. The rapper allegedly exposed his penis three times while sitting in a Delta One cabin, according to a federal agent who questioned Desiigner and others on the flight. The musician was scolded by three flight attendants before being taken to the back of the plane near his crew. He later allegedly expressed regret to the security guard and apologized to the staff before getting off the plane.
In an interview with the FBI, Desiigner said he showed his “magic stick” to two flight attendants, describing one of them as “a really cool, beautiful lady.” She allegedly explained that while she was performing in Japan, she “didn’t really get… a cootie” and was “brick-hard” when she got on the plane.
According to the documents, the rapper also claimed that he did not take medicine before the flight, only vitamins. The representative wrote that he “does not appear”. […] to be” and gave “consistent answers” throughout the interview.
In a statement posted on Instagram last Thursday, the 25-year-old said he was using leftover medication from a previous hospital visit when he revealed himself on the plane. She also wrote that she has been struggling with her mental health “for the past few months” and plans to go to a facility for treatment.
“I am ashamed of what I did on that plane. I came back to America and I accept myself.[to] facility to help me. I will cancel all shows and all obligations until further notice,” the statement read in part.
According to the paperwork, Desiigner could face jail time if found guilty of misdemeanor; Improper display on an aircraft is punishable by a maximum of 90 days’ imprisonment and a fine of “not more than $500”. Whatever the outcome, this turn of events is absolutely shocking for the once promising rap star and former Kanye West apprentice.
