Jamie Foxx’s April health scare “shocked and upset” co-star Cameron Diaz.
“They were working together one day. [on the ‘Back in Action’ set]and he was gone the next time,” a source told People Tuesday of the comedian’s vague “medical complication.”
While the actress “wanted to be supportive and help in any way … her family kept her situation very quiet while she was recovering,” the insider continued.
Diaz, 50, stepped back from acting when news of Foxx’s signing of his film came.
Filming of “Back in Action” began in December 2022.
In March of the following year, the 55-year-old singer made headlines for an alleged “meltdown” on set in which she fired a producer, two directors and her driver.
After her “tantrum”, it was revealed that Diaz plans to retire after completion and focus on raising her daughter Raddix, a role she loves “more than anything else in the world”.
Another source doubled down this Tuesday, telling People the film’s schedule was so “heavy and grueling” that the “Bad Teacher” star was “pleased” that it wrapped up.

As for Foxx, the Grammy-winning actress has been down from the limelight since her daughter Corinne told her Instagram followers she’s “on track to recover” after she was hospitalized in April.
The Oscar-winning actress broke her silence in May via Stories, saying, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling grateful.”
While Foxx’s rep denied that the complication was caused by a COVID vaccine – and Mike Tyson claimed he suffered a stroke – it remains unclear why the actor suffered.
However, his family members were spotted outside a physical rehabilitation center in Chicago.
Foxx’s ex “Daddy, Stop Embarrassing Me!” co-star Porscha Coleman assured an Entertainment Tonight reporter on Sunday that the “Django” star was “resting” and “in good shape.”
The 37-year-old actor said, “He will be back. Believe and trust.”
Noting Foxx’s customary “secrecy”, he said, “If you’ve noticed, Jamie Foxx has always been on the low end. … even when it comes to dating. … Foxx is doing what Foxx should be doing.
His statement comes two days after Page Six reported that Foxx was “recovering” amid growing fan concerns.
