Britney Spears heals her broken relationship with her mother, Lynne Spears.
The 41-year-old “Toxic” singer revealed in an Instagram post on Thursday that Lynne, 68, visited her home for the first time in three years, leading to a compromise.
“My sweet mom came to my door yesterday after 3 years…it’s been a long time…there are always things to get done with family…but time heals everything!!!” Britney’s post has begun.
Claiming that they were able to fix things during the meeting, she continued, “I feel so lucky to be able to talk about what I’ve been holding inside for so long, to try to make things RIGHT!!! I love you 💕 so much!!! Psss… I’m so happy we can have coffee together after 14 years !!! Then let’s go shopping!!!”
Alongside the caption, Britney shared an old photo of herself dressed as a ballerina in a pink tutu.
Britney and Lynne endured a complicated relationship after falling into conflict over her conservatory, which ended more than a decade later in November 2021. Britney was first placed under conservatory in 2008 following a public mental health crisis.
Just days before the conservatory ended, the mother of two hit Lynne in an Instagram post that she later deleted. “Pssss, my dad may have started the conservatory 13 years ago… but what people don’t know is that my mom gave him the idea!!!!” Britney wrote. “I will never get those years back.”
“She secretly ruined my life,” he added.
Addressing both her mom and her ex-manager, Lou Taylor, in the post, Britney said, “So, get the ‘I have no idea what’s going on’ attitude and get the hell out!!!! You know exactly what you’re doing.”
The “Womanizer” singer also did not invite her mother, sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, or father, Jamie Spears, to her June 2022 wedding with her 29-year-old husband, Sam Asghari.
Despite this, Lynne showed her support on social media after the wedding and congratulated her daughter in the comments section of an Instagram post she shared days after she got married in front of 60 guests at the musician’s home in California.

“You look bright and very happy!” Lynne wrote alongside a series of photos from the wedding ceremony at the time.
“Your wedding is a ‘Dream’ wedding! And having it in your home makes it so emotional and special!” she loved it. “I’m so happy for you! I love you!”
Months later in December, Britney reached out to her mother and suggested in an Instagram post that the couple go for a coffee.
“Instagram no longer likes people’s body-exposing posts, so here’s a selfie in Mexico 🇲🇽!!!” He wrote it next to a snapshot of him appearing to be posing topless. “Mom and Dad… I crossed the border and I made it!!! After 15 years of not drinking coffee ☕️… Mom now we can have coffee together!!! I’m being treated equally… let’s have coffee and talk about it!!!”
