The music is still Britney Spears’ “pride and joy”, but Spears won’t be back on the road anytime soon, a source told Page Six.
“Britney has the trauma of touring,” says an insider. “For many years, even before he became a conservator, he was given grueling travel schedules and made to perform.”
The pop superstar’s “breaking point came in 2018,” according to the source, “when his residency in Las Vegas finally came to an end, but later his team decided to turn it into an international tour with more than 30 concerts in the US and Europe”.
“After four years in Vegas, he desperately needed a break and couldn’t find one. And then, right after, they dared to book a second Vegas residency,” writes the insider.

Spears’ first Sin City outing, “Britney: Piece of Me,” grossed $137.7 million from 248 shows between 2013 and 2017.
However, her second Grammy-winning guest work, “Britney: Domination,” was unable to perform, as her father, Jamie Spears, sent her to a mental health facility weeks ahead of its scheduled 2019 launch date.
Two years later, Britney said in open court that her father and executives “should go to jail” because they “played a large role in punishing” her when she said “no” to the performances.
A Los Angeles judge ended the “Toxic” singer’s conservatism in 2021, giving her control of her personal, medical and financial affairs for the first time in 13 years.
Since then, Britney signed a $15 million deal for an upcoming memoir, married her longtime crush Sam Asghari, and released a duet with Elton John titled “Hold Me Closer”, her top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. in almost ten years.
“He still likes to dance and make music,” the source tells Page Six. “He talked about re-recording and got a lot of offers, some of which he turned down, but timing and choosing the right projects are the key. He is so understanding.
An insider adds, “The beauty of Britney being free again is that for the first time in a long time she can make the decisions herself and do it at her own pace.”
