Brad Pitt says Angelina Jolie plans to “secretly” sell her stake in French estate Château Miraval to take revenge on her amid a fierce custody battle.
According to legal documents obtained by Page Six, the “Fast Train” star claims they will never sell their share of the $30 million property they bought with Jolie in 2008 without the other’s approval.
Yet when they divorced in 2019, Jolie decided she wanted to break up and began negotiating a buyout option with Pitt, 59.
The 47-year-old allegedly even agreed to split the business between 68 percent and 38 percent in Pitt’s favor as he invested more money and time in the project.
Yet in the summer of 2021, Pitt learned through a press release that the “Maleficent” actress had sold a 50 percent stake to a “Russian oligarch”, whom Pitt had previously turned down.
Pitt alleges that his “vindictive” ex-wife “collaborated” with Yuri Shefler, who also owns the Stoli Group, to ensure he was “kept in the dark.”
The new documents allege that Jolie “no longer wants to sell to Pitt” after an “adverse custody decision” in which she was given joint custody of their six children. (The decision was later overturned.)
“The decision to end negotiations with Pitt was deliberate and pretext,” the document submitted to the LA Supreme Court states. “As the trial will show, Jolie’s actions were unlawful, seriously and deliberately harming Pitt and unfairly enriching herself.”
Not only that, Pitt believes his ex-wife chose Shefler specifically because she knew it would be bad for business, especially given his ties to Vladimir Putin—especially his “invasion of Ukraine and homophobic legislative agenda.”
“Stoli and Jolie wanted to force Pitt into partnering with a stranger and
even worse, a stranger with poisonous connotations and intentions,” the document claims.
Now that half of the property has been sold to a third party, Pitt says he defeats his purpose in buying the Miraval as “a loving home for his six children” in the first place.
