Billie Lourd took some time on Sunday to reflect on Mother’s Day as both mother and daughter.
Lourd, 30, shared a photo with his late mother, Carrie Fisher, in an Instagram post and made a lengthy statement while describing the day.
“Even though I’ve been a mom for almost 3 years and now have 2 kids, she’s the first thing that comes to mind when I celebrate Mother’s Day,” Lourd wrote. Star wars myth. “Although it’s been more than 6 years since he died, when I first wake up today still feels like his day, not mine. But day by day, I remember it’s my day too.”
She continued, “I am the mother of two magical little creatures that I adore so much, and there is nothing that pleases me more than to be their mother. And though she’s not here, it’s still her day. Now is our day.. And it’s sad and weird at the same time. beautiful. With the magic of life, the truth of grief comes out. It’s all intertwined. Mother’s Day can be a lot of things.”
“As I say every year. Happy Mother’s Day but also a sad / sad / lonely / alienated / frustrated / etc. Mother’s Day! Mixed Emotions Mother’s Day!!! (Hallmark or anyone else who makes cards – all of you) turn this into a card. I send my love to everyone and everyone in need. You are not alone. ❤️”
Earlier in the month, Lourd was involved in finally giving her mother a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Fisher, who died in December 2016 just a day before his mother, Debbie Reynolds, joined him. Star wars Costars Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill at the popular tourist attraction on Hollywood Boulevard. It only made sense that his ceremony was on May 4 – Star wars day.
Lourd accepted Fisher’s star in her honor and spoke to the assembled crowd about her mother. While Lourd has recorded that his mother told him he wasn’t famous until he became a Pez dealer, Lourd said he believed he wasn’t famous until he got his own star.
“Like most kids, I grew up thinking my mom was a little – okay, very – embarrassing,” Lourd said. “He tried to change my mind by showing me this great movie he was in. Star wars. I don’t know if any of you have heard of it. I don’t have any. He liked to tell the story where I rolled my eyes and yelled ‘Mommy so loud’ every time he tried to put it on. ”

Lourd sweetly shared that her mother is very special, not just to her family, but to everyone everywhere.
“My mom was glowing,” Lourd said. “He described his world both literally and figuratively. He left a radiant mark on everyone he met.”
