Are these belligerent words?
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were spotted having a seemingly “nervous” conversation a few days before red carpet photographers appeared to be bickering at a recent event.
In new photos and videos obtained by DailyMail.com, Affleck and Lopez were spotted driving around Beverly Hills in the actor-director’s black SUV earlier this month.
The “Argo” star driving the car lowered her window and waved her hands while seemingly harshly speaking to the Grammy nominee.
The tourist, who took the photos and videos, said Affleck looked “disappointed or frustrated” during the exchange, while Lopez looked “shy” and “a little sad”.
“There was a lot of hand gestures,” the eyewitness said. “I was waving his hands up and down and he looked feverish.”
The spy added that the discussion looked more like an “argument.”
But a source familiar with the couple told Page Six privately: “You can clearly see that they are chatting and listening to him. He is a storyteller and can be animated when he speaks.”
It’s unclear what 50-year-old Affleck said to the polyhyphenous person he married last summer, but their intimacy has seemed less than affectionate lately.
On Wednesday, the two were caught making a seemingly icy exchange before posing for a photo at the premiere of their new movie “The Mother.”
Affleck looked excited as he fingered Lopez, 53, whose facial expressions indicated they might be having a disagreement.
But the excellent pros got over their obvious fears and turned on the PDA as soon as they stepped onto the red carpet.
A lip reader told DailyMail.com that the couple only discussed positioning for avid photography enthusiasts.
The expert said the “Let’s Get Loud” singer asked the “Air” director if her low-cut top “showed too much” and asked her to reply that it was fine.
After getting into a joint pose, Affleck apparently told his wife to approach him before leaning in his ear and saying, “Don’t worry baby.”
“Come closer to me,” Lopez replied.

After Affleck completed a series of photos, he turned to the “Shotgun Wedding” actress and apparently said, “We’re done with this,” before kissing her and asking if she’s okay.
“Yes,” she replied, continuing to tell her husband that they had to “go there.”
The day before, the paparazzi captured a video showing Affleck slamming the door of Lopez’s car after drinking coffee.
The moment went viral as fans branded the “visibly pissed off” Oscar winner “miserable.”
Representatives of the stars did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
